I'm a bit sick of hearing from Liberals how we have a "moral obligation" to take care of everyone because Jesus said so. Well, I for one believe that Jesus had something else in mind. He was speaking to an individual's responsibility to help those less fortunate than himself. Meaning that out of the goodness of your heart, you should make every effort to help those who can't help themselves. I have no problem with that as God is a very wise deity. However, I DO have a problem with a government MANDATED responsibility that is taken completely out of my hands. It boils down to what God has granted us these past centuries; free will. I am encouraged, by the words of Jesus, to help my fellow man. This is not however the same as the government saying, "Well Jesus said we should take care of those less fortunate, so we'll tax the daylights out of our citizens to pay for universal healthcare, in accordance with our own misguided interpretation of scripture."
And on top of all that how about the absolute hypocrisy of the left in even invoking our Savior's words when they are constantly screaming at the top of their lungs about a separation of church and state (which is another matter completely that I will get around to soon)?!? Again, it's another instance of the left using tactics which they wholeheartedly condemn when being used by our side but it's now OK because they are "in charge." That, and I seem to remember our very own POTUS saying that, "we are no longer a Christian nation."
I wish our government came with a "reset" button…
