Remember 1998? The year that produced one of the coolest "races" in baseball? Yes, I'm talking about Mark McGwire vs Sammy Sosa. The whole season was really a magical season. The race between those two sluggers was one for the books. I fell in love with baseball, all over again.
And then came the allegations.
My heart truly sank when, for a moment, I actually considered that there may have been some "juicing." I hoped against hope that the allegations were not true. I wanted to believe that Mark was clean and that he was telling the truth. Well, the truth came out a couple of days ago.
But, if Hank Aaron can forgive him, then so can I.
