I Will Never Understand...

How the outcome of where a guy who plays basketball will end up, becomes the focal point of a conversation. Why? Who cares?!? Does it affect me personally? Does it affect you? Ummm... No.

But God forbid we talk about new taxes. Or old tax cuts being cut. Or the current financial state of the USA. Or why this administration seems hell-bent on bankrupting the nation.

These same people who want to talk about some kid who throws a ball around are the same people who seem to know all the ins and outs of how basketball contracts are made. What kinds of deals go on behind closed doors. Who's being traded to make room for the new salary cap and what that person will make as a result of the trade. They can even tell you a players record over the past few seasons.

But they can't hold a single conversation about how "spending your way out of a recession" makes one lick of sense. They can't speak intelligently about why the democRats want to not only raise taxes but invent new ones. And not one of them can tell me who their state reps are.

"I don't like politics," is their refrain.

It's not a question of liking it; it's a question of understanding it.

Political decisions affect you. Period.

Where some kid who pays ball ends up, does not.

Get in the game...
