The names and addresses of concealed weapons permit holders would no longer be public information under a bill due for a vote in the House of Delegates Wednesday.
The bill from Del. Mark Cole, R Spotsylvania, says that court clerks shall withhold the name and any other information on a concealed carry permit application.


A proposed constitutional amendment that would make it harder for officials to limit who can buy and carry a gun is expected to come before Iowa lawmakers soon, and a key legislator said he's optimistic about its chances.

Illinois residents with firearm owner identification cards would have more leeway in renewing them if the General Assembly passes legislation proposed by Rep. Adam Brown, R Decatur.


The contentious long gun registry is getting closer to its date with the firing squad.
Candice Hoeppner, parliamentary secretary to Public Safety Minister Vic Toews, said in a statement that the government is "one step closer to eliminating the wasteful and ineffective long gun registry once and for all."
