Researchers say don’t count on Constitution to stop Arms Trade Treaty

MANASQUAN, N.J.— “There is a widespread misunderstanding on the part of American gun-owners, evidenced in gun blogs and in commentaries on articles dealing with the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT),” researchers Paul Gallant, Sherry Gallant, Alan Chwick and Joanne D. The Oklahoma Senate on Wednesday passed a measure that would allow for the open carrying of guns. Senate Bill 1733, by Sen. Anthony Sykes, R Moore, heads to the House after securing Senate approval by a vote of 34 9.

Washington, D.C. police appear prepared to arrest gun owners even if they aren't breaking the law. Transporting a gun through the District, whether as a resident or visitor, is not nearly as big of a legal risk as the police department experts say. However, the city is giving out false information in written and verbal form on these laws, which significantly raises the possibility of gun owners being falsely arrested and having their legal firearm confiscated.

Talk of regulating firearms is sure to start a debate.
And state legislators have heard plenty of debate on this issue in recent weeks. Several gun bills are working their way through the Illinois General Assembly, and hundreds of gun rights advocates made their presence known March 7 during the annual Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day in Springfield.
