On March 16th I started A Princess of Mars (Edgar Rice Burroughs). As of today I have read:

The Return of Tarzan (ERB)

The Son of Tarzan (ERB)

And as of this moment I am in the middle of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (Robert Heinlein). In the mail I have received the majority of the remainder of the Tarzan series (heck yeah).

Until March 16th, the only reading I had done for probably the last 10-15 years was either history, biography, politics or some combination of the three. I had forgotten how much fun Science Fiction can really be, as well as how much you can learn from it too.

I also can not believe that I'm 43 and have just now started reading Burroughs. The Mars and Tarzan series are now my two top favorite series of all time (just nudging Lord of the Rings to three).

Also, EVERY American should read Starship Troopers. "But, I've seen the movie. Isn't that good enough?" No gentle reader, it is not. Apples and oranges...

Best advice?

Do yourself a favor, if you haven't already, and read Edgar Rice Burroughs.

Now I know that that seems like an awful lot to have read in roughly 47 days I read fairly quickly and the books were so dang good that it was just too hard to put them down. Basically, I got on a roll...
