Hasan hearing at Fort Hood on Friday

Attorneys for accused Fort Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan will be in court Friday for a half-day administrative hearing before the judge.

Both the prosecution and defense are set to litigate pending motions, including the resolution of discovery matters and whether Hasan should receive the expert services of a neurologist at government expense, according to a III Corps news release.

Hasan's court-martial is set to begin Aug. 20 at the Lawrence J. Williams Judicial Center on post. He could face the death penalty if convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted pre-meditated murder in the Nov. 5, 2009, shootings on post.
